OG’s Filipino Lineup Continues Their Breakout Run
OG’s all-Filipino roster delivered another shock to the tournament, defeating BetBoom Team 2 to 1 in the first round of the Playoffs to secure a Top 6 finish at PGL Wallachia Season 6. Para sa isang bagong buo na roster carrying a legendary banner, this performance is quickly becoming one of the biggest stories of the season.
For years, OG struggled to reclaim their former dominance. The organisation that once made history with back to back TI championships had fallen into inconsistency and failed rebuilds. Kaya nang i-drop nila ang Western European roster and sign Team Aureus, the move stunned the community. Fans found the idea exciting, pero hindi agad inasahan na magiging ganito ka effective.
Pero mula noong unang series pa lang, OG showed they were ready.
A Strong Group Stage That Set the Tone
OG started their Wallachia campaign with a decisive 2 to 0 sweep over PARIVISION, the previous season’s top team. They then took down Tundra Esports, fresh from a championship at BLAST Slam IV, in a hard fought 2 to 1 series. Even after being swept by Team Liquid, OG rebounded and defeated Heroic 2 to 1. With a 3 to 1 record, they finished Top 3 in the Group Stage.
Maraming fans ang nagsabi online na hindi raw pang debut ng bagong roster ang pinakita. The lineup looked disciplined, composed and hungry from the start.
OG Secure Top 6 With Victory Over BetBoom Team
Entering the Playoffs, expectations were split. BetBoom Team is known for explosive play and veteran experience, but also for inconsistency. Still, many believed this matchup would test whether OG could sustain their strong start.
Instead, OG shocked everyone again.
Through three intense games, the Filipino squad stayed composed, executed in clutch moments and walked away with a 2 to 1 series win. The victory sent them to the Upper Bracket Semifinals and guaranteed a Top 6 result, their best placing since April 2024 at ESL One Birmingham.
For an organisation seeking a new identity, this feels like the turning point they’ve waited for.
OG Set For Rematch Against Team Liquid
Up next is OG’s toughest challenge. On November 21, they face Team Liquid again, the same squad that swept them in the Group Stage. This time, a Top 4 finish is on the line. The winner advances to the Upper Bracket Finals. The loser drops to the lower bracket with pressure sky high.
Regardless of what happens, OG’s Cinderella run is alive and roaring. At may buong SEA at Pinoy community pa sa likod nila, pushing them with unmatched passion.
Kung magtutuloy tuloy ang ganitong laro, OG might be on the verge of writing one of the most unexpected comeback stories of the season.
