MCGG Opens Road to First International Tournament with Rising Stars Launch

MOONTON Games is officially setting Magic Chess: Go Go (MCGG) on the path to its first international tournament with the launch of MCGG Rising Stars (MRS), kicking off September 12.

The new in-game feature offers players a direct pathway from casual matches to the global stage, with the ultimate prize being a slot at the GO1 World Championship, where the first-ever MCGG world champion will be crowned.

Two-Stage Competitive Pathway

MRS will unfold in two stages: Open Qualifiers and Division Finals.

  • Open Qualifiers will run from September 12 to October 19 across six weekends, open to all players without the need for registration. Much like MLBB’s successful Rising Open, the qualifiers will take place every Friday to Sunday.
  • Seven divisions are confirmed: Asia, EECA (Eastern Europe & Central Asia), Europe, Indonesia, Latin America, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

Competitors will battle through six stages to earn the coveted title of Rising Star. Along the way, players can unlock exclusive rewards, including titles and a special skin, before advancing to their Division Finals. Division champions will then move one step closer to securing a ticket to the world championship.

A Step Toward the Global Stage

“The upcoming MCGG international tournament is our most exciting stage yet. We can’t wait to see our players from around the world showcase their skills and make their mark as international champions,” said Gao “Skyhook” Chong, MCGG Producer at MOONTON Games.

This global expansion comes on the heels of MCGG Season 3: Cosmic Traders, which introduced fresh synergies, a commander ranking system, and bidding arena updates. It also builds on grassroots momentum, following the success of the MCGG Indonesia Community Tournament (MCCT ID), which surpassed one million views across official platforms.

Building an Inclusive Esports Ecosystem

With the launch of Rising Stars, MOONTON is expanding MCGG esports beyond regional borders, aiming to foster an inclusive ecosystem where any player,  from casual hobbyists to seasoned grinders, has the chance to rise.

From grassroots tournaments to the world stage, MCGG is setting the stage for its most ambitious esports chapter yet. And come January, the GO1 World Championship will mark a historic moment: the crowning of MCGG’s first global champion.
