MAKATI – The MPL Philippines has revealed that the Season 16 Playoffs will be held from October 22 to 26 at the historic Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City, marking the beginning of a new era in Philippine esports.
With up to 2,000 spectators per day, the Astrodome will host the MPL Playoffs for the first time in league history. Known as the “Home of the PBA,” the legendary venue will host the first professional mobile esports event in its legendary halls, making it the largest playoff stage the league has ever seen.
A Milestone for the League and Venue
Both venue management and league officials praised the historic decision.
Lee Viloria, PH Esports Head of BD and Partnerships at MOONTON Games, stated, “This move to the Cuneta Astrodome marks a historic step for MPL Philippines as we celebrate the eras of the league with our fans.” “This legendary location has hosted moments in Philippine sports that will never be forgotten, and it will now serve as the platform for Filipino esports to continue making history.”
The management of the Astrodome acknowledged the event’s importance as well.

Superfan City and Community Highlights
The opening of MPL Festival Superfan City, an open-paced cultural showcase that will take place at the Cuneta grounds from October 22 to 26, will provide fans with a festival atmosphere in addition to the action on stage. MLBB cosplay showcases, sponsor booths with special giveaways, fan meet and greets with MPL stars, live watch parties, and a range of community-friendly interactive activities will all be part of the free walk-in event.
The return of the Infinix Fansiklaban Cup, which allows fans to form 5v5 squads to represent their preferred MPL teams, and the Community Parade, in which fans march from Superfan City into the MPL Arena, are also part of the celebrations.
